maternity leave pay nj
Long term Substitute limits in NJ?
Hello,
I am a certified teacher, I am subbing in a school district in which the woman is on a maternity leave. She told the administration she would be back after winter break, but now she is saying she is going to be out for the whole year, or just come back for one week in June. I am very fortunate to be given this position since it is very difficult to find a teaching position but I am only being paid per day, I have no benefits and no holiday pay. I am only getting paid on a long term sub basis which is about half what i would make as a teacher. I have been there from September 2 and I plan all my own lessons and get observed and have all the responsibilities of a teacher, is this legal? How long can a lts remain a lts? I can barely afford to feed my family and I’m worried about december when we have a week off.
